Step 1

Welcome to Step 1 of the 3-Step Masterclass.

These 3 simple techniques are easy to use and can each be practised immediately.

This first step is all about mindset.

Our minds are powerful. What we tell ourselves has a huge influence on how we interpret what is happening in our body.

So how can you change the way you think about fear of speaking?

Watch the video and find out.

In this step, you’ll learn a simple reframe to help you stop seeing your body’s reaction as a sign that something is wrong.

A racing heart, shaky hands or butterflies in your stomach do not mean you should stop.

They may simply mean your body is getting ready for something that matters.

Try this step next time you need to speak in front of colleagues, a board, potential investors or a networking group.

What do you notice?

Do you feel a little steadier? More focused? More ready to speak?

Start by using the energy in your body as support, rather than seeing it as something to fight.

This is your first small courageous action.

I missed the introduction!

No problem. You can watch the introduction video here.

It explains why fear can show up when we speak and helps you start noticing how your body reacts in speaking situations.

Masterclass Introduction

Your trainer - Helen von Dadelszen

I believe that everyone can learn to speak with more confidence, clarity and conviction.

Confidence is not a personality trait that some people have and others don’t. It is a skill that can be built through practice, support and small courageous actions.

Over the years, I’ve seen so many dedicated professionals with important work, missions, research and ideas hold themselves back because speaking feels frightening, uncomfortable or overwhelming.

I decided to do something about it.

As a communication coach, speaker, vocal coach and author of Courageous Action, I help professionals speak up, share their ideas and get their message across with more confidence.

My work combines my background in theatre, singing, recruitment, coaching, communication training and my own lived experience of fear around public speaking.

I know what it is like to feel your heart race, your mouth go dry and your body tell you to stop.

And I also know that fear of speaking does not mean you are not capable.

It means your body needs support, your message matters and your confidence can be built one small step at a time.

In this masterclass, I’ll guide you through 3 practical techniques to help you steady your body, shift your focus and speak with more confidence when it matters.
